No Agenda

This week was the first week in a long time where we had no plans and I have to say I kind of enjoyed it more then I thought I would.  Next week Bennett's sports class starts up again and we have a few play dates planned out, so this week we took it easy and just did whatever we felt like doing.  I like waking up and not having to rush around to get out the door.  Bennett starts getting a bit bored mid morning, so I have had to come up with something fun for us to do but it is nice that we don't have to be somewhere by a certain time we can just do what we want.  If I ask him what he wants to do he tells me every time he wants to go to school.  Sorry buddy no school, you are stuck with your mama until August!!!

Most days we spent the morning outside playing because that is the only time of the day you won't melt outside!  Yesterday I took him to an outdoor mall area to run around then I took him to a book store to let him pick out a couple of new books.  We got one about being a big brother and he picked out one about how much he loves Daddy.  He insisted on getting the one about Daddy...very cute!  Today we ran some errands and I picked up a few things for Bennett, then I took my sweet boy on a lunch date.  It was so much fun just having lunch with him and spending the day just hanging out.  Tomorrow Jeremy is taking the day off so we are starting off our weekend early!  I also have my baby shower on Sunday which I am really looking forward to.  Should be a fun weekend!!

Checking out the fountain yesterday

He cleaned out my wallet and threw all of my change in the water.  He thought that was the best thing!

Goofy boy!  He likes seeing himself on my phone.

I am sure soon I will wish school was about to start but for the time being I am going to enjoy having more time with Bennett and little on our calendar.  I mine as well enjoy it before the baby gets here and we have no time to relax!  Speaking of the baby I went to the doctor on Tuesday and everything looks great, but the baby has not completely turned yet.  He is now diagonal but heading in the right direction!  I really hope by my next appointment he has turned but I guess he is going at his own pace, so when he is ready he will move...I hope!

Memorial Day

Our Memorial Day weekend started off a bit rocky.  Thursday Jeremy had a lunch meeting for work and was on the phone with me on his way back out to his truck and I hear him say "Oh my God my truck got broken into!"  Someone smashed in the back window and stole his work laptop.  He was parked in a busy area and his truck is high up enough that you cannot just walk by his car and see what is on the floorboard, so whoever broke in was really on the lookout for something.  Luckily nothing personal was stolen and his window, computer, and bag have already been replaced.  Friday we had something fun to look forward to and that was a kid free night!  Pop Pop took Bennett for us so we could go out with some friends who are about to move to NYC, so our weekend started to look up from there.  The rest of the weekend we relaxed!  Every morning we went for a long walk and either went to the pool or pulled out the baby pool for Bennett to play in the backyard.  It was such a great weekend!

Running around dancing to music

At the pool!

He had so much fun!

This week we are getting back into the swing of things.  I have another doctors appointment to check on me and the baby.  He is moving around like crazy and to be honest right now I am not sure if he is transverse or not.  I am trying not to get my hopes up that he turned but hopefully today I will get some good news.  If not I guess I will continue to wait...only 8 more weeks till my due date!  It will be here very very soon!

Baby Update

I realize I have been horrible in keeping up with anything regarding my pregnancy.  Sorry baby I promise we are so excited for your arrival!!  I am finally getting things together in his nursery and hope to get this finished in the next month.  I keep acting like we have an infinite amount of time before my due date but now that I realize we have about 2 months I am starting to go into panic/nesting mode and want to get things done!!!

I am now going to the doctor every 2 weeks!  That snuck up on me.  I really was shocked when the midwife told me that I needed to start coming that often I thought she was wrong, but no the time has come for me to go every 2 weeks and soon it will be every week.  We realized at my 28 week appointment that baby is transverse, meaning he is laying sideways in my belly.  At 30 weeks he was still the same way.  They aren't too concerned at this point because there is plenty of time for him to turn head down.  My midwife said all babies usually turn on their own by 34 weeks, but they set up an ultrasound for my 36 week appointment to check on him and make sure he is where he needs to be.  If he hasn't turned by then they said they will gently make him turn...sounds like no fun so I am praying he goes on his own.  I am starting to get uncomfortable because he is laying transverse.  When he stretches or kicks me a certain way it is very painful, so I am hoping he turns really soon and makes better use of my belly then he is now!  I am also measuring small because of the way he is laying so they cannot get an accurate measurement to know how he is growing.  So please pray baby turns head down soon!!

Other then the baby being transverse things are good.  I am losing my energy a bit faster now but I really feel good.  I just plan on enjoying my last couple of months with my first baby Bennett and soaking up as much one on one time with him as I can.  I still can't believe soon we will be a family of 4!  Seems surreal but we are excited and can't wait to meet this sweet baby!

Last Day of School

On the first day of school

Big boy on his last day of school

Today was Bennett's last day of preschool for the year.  His class had an end of the year party and it was nice being able to see his teachers and friends for the last time.  He has made some sweet friends in class and talks about them at home.  I know we will see a few of them over the summer which I know will make Bennett very happy and I am hoping a couple of them end up in his class next year.  Bennett started off the school year a little rocky and cried and cried every time he was dropped off.  It is amazing to see how much he has grown since he started school.  I am very thankful we decided to put him in school this year.  I really think it has done so much for him and helped him come out of his shell a little bit.

Eating lunch

Jumping with his friends

They were having a lot of fun!

Hanging out with his friends

Monkey see monkey do!

I am a bit nervous that all of our activities end after next week.  The only scheduled thing I have planned is his sports class.  It ends on Monday but I signed him back up for the summer, so at least one day a week we have a scheduled activity.  All the other days I will be winging it and trying to keep us busy which won't be easy since it is getting a lot hotter outside.  I am looking forward to a little break from being on the go so much but I am sure I will get over that soon when we are bored with nothing to do!

Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's Day this year actually it was more of Mother's Day weekend!  Jeremy started off Saturday by picking up my favorite doughnuts for breakfast.  He knows the way to this pregnant girls heart!!!  After we ate I actually went back to bed but that didn't last long.  Before I knew it Bennett was running into my room and was ready for me to get up!  Once we all got ready we headed out so I could do some shopping.  Jeremy asked me what I wanted for Mother's Day and I told him shoes.  The only thing that isn't getting bigger are my feet so I figured I would treat my feet to some nice new shoes!  We shopped, had lunch and just enjoyed the day together.  After Bennett's nap we headed back out to do a little bit more shopping.  I really got spoiled and ended up with 4 new pairs of shoes!  After I got my fill of shoe shopping we went out to dinner and then grabbed ice cream.  Saturday was such a nice day with my two favorite boys.

Yesterday we got up for church and after church Jeremy cooked a yummy lunch for Bennett and me. Since it was pouring rain all day yesterday we decided to just relax for the rest of the day.  All three of us took a nap which was so nice!  It was such a great weekend and I am so grateful to Jeremy for making my day so special.

My silly boy!

I am so thankful to be Bennett's mom and feel so blessed that he is mine.  I still can't believe I will have another sweet boy soon, I am one lucky girl!!

Mother's Day Brunch

Bennett's class held a Mother's Day Brunch for all of the moms today.  The teachers tried to get the kids to say how much they love their mom and some other sweet things, but most of the kids sat there frozen and didn't say one word.  Of course Bennett was one of those kids!  After we had circle time and read a story about how much they love mommy we sat down to eat.  While we ate the teachers handed out gifts that our kids made for us.  Bennett was really excited to show me the painting he made and kept telling me about it.  It was such a sweet time with my boy!  After we ate Bennett wanted to play outside on the playground, so we stayed for a little bit so he could play with his friends then I took him to Chick fil A to get him a cookie and get myself something to eat.  The brunch, which was really just mini muffins, did not fill my pregnant belly!!!

Enjoying his cookie!

The painting he made.  He kept telling me the butterfly had 2 eyes.

The birdhouse he painted.

After we got home and enjoyed our little treat I put Bennett down for a nap.  He called my name as I was walking out of his room and when I turned around he blew me a kiss and said "Love You Mommy"!  MELT MY HEART!!!  I really don't know what I did to deserve being his mom, but I am so grateful that I get to be his mommy!  He is the sweetest!!

Aquarium Trip

Saturday we took Bennett to the aquarium for his first time with Gigi and Papa Daddy.  I knew Bennett would enjoy it but he had a lot more fun then I thought he would.  As soon as we walked in he was dancing around and couldn't wait to see everything.  We got through all of the exhibits then went into the dolphin show.  Bennett did really well.  Jeremy and I weren't sure if he would sit long enough to let us all watch the show but he sat through the entire thing.  Sadly I forgot my camera so all of the pictures I took were on my phone.  I was so upset I left our camera at home but at least my phone has a decent enough camera.

Checking out sharks in one of the touch pools

Saying "Hi" to the turtle!

Walking through the underwater tunnel

The enormous whale shark that was swimming above our heads

Bennett in front of the aquarium wall.  He looked so tiny in front of it.

It was such a fun day and I can't wait to take Bennett back again!

New Hair Do

Bennett looks just like Jeremy but the poor guy inherited my cowlick and unruly hair.  His hairline is just like mine which makes it lay weird if his hair gets too long.  He also has my wavy but not really wavy hair and it is very thick.  I guess it is good he is a boy and can keep it short but even when it is short his hair is still hard to manage.  I have to completely wet his head every morning just to keep it from being all over the place.  I thought I would try getting his hair buzzed for the summer and see how it looked.  He sweats so bad with all of the hair on his head so I wanted to try it really short for summer and Jeremy and I figured if it looked good I would buy clippers and cut Bennett's hair myself from now on.  Well Tuesday Bennett's hair got buzzed and along with his hair being gone so is any babyness that was left!  He looks like a 5 year old to me now!  All day after his hair was cut I literally just stared at him because he looked so different to me.  I love the haircut because it is so easy and it is great for summer, but I really don't know if I will keep it like this yet or not.  I am just not used to how he looks yet!

Looks like such a big boy!

He is still cute!

When I took him to school today his teachers were shocked at how different he looked.  They all said they miss his little curls.  I do miss his hair but I am really enjoying how easy it is to deal with his hair now that it is buzzed.  Who knows it may stay this way or I might let it grow back out.  I just can't decide!!  He still looks cute I could never do anything to him that would not make him look cute but he definitely does not have that "baby" look to him anymore and I do miss that!
