Burt's Pumpkin Patch

We made our annual trip up to Burt's to get our pumpkins.  Boy it was quite a day!!  We left our house a little bit later then we had planned to leave because Walker slept in and since he was going to miss his morning nap I actually thought how him sleeping in would be a huge help and allow us to stay at Burt's a lot longer.  Right after he ate breakfast we got right into the car.

We headed out and had a nice quiet drive.  About 2 minutes before we pull into Burt's Bennett says "Mom Walker threw up!".  I turn around and what do you know there is Walker's breakfast all over him!  He never cried or whined he was just sitting there like nothing happened.  We pull into Burt's and get him out of the car clean him off and put on the extra outfit I had in my bag.  I had the boys in matching shirts for the day and of course that plan went down the drain.  Walker seemed totally fine once we cleaned him up and since we drove an hour up there we decided to try and make the most of it.  We hopped on the hayride then quickly picked out our pumpkins.  We were there for about 40 minutes.  We left pretty quickly just in case Walker really was sick!  Not really the plan I had in my head for the day but I was too afraid to push it.

On the hayride all cleaned up and ready to go!

He was excited!

Still a little dazed from the car ride

Searching for pumpkins

Found a good one!

With my boys!

Jeremy and the boys

Walking around and checking everything out!

The drive up there is on a lot of windy roads as you are heading up to the mountains and it turns out Walker just got car sick from the drive.  Walker is usually so easy going about things but the one area where he is not easy is the car.  He really doesn't love his carseat and hates being in it for anything over 30 minutes.  Maybe one day longer drives will get easier with him!!

He was not a happy camper on the way home because he was really hungry which was understandable since he lost his breakfast.  We got some lunch and he was back to his normal self after that.

Let's just say we won't be driving up to the mountains or taking a long car ride for a while!  I am just glad he is not sick and it was only car sickness!

It still turned out to be a great day and we picked out some great pumpkins!

Walker's First Haircut!!

Walker is such a cutie but his hair was getting out of control!  We needed to get his haircut and say goodbye to his baby mullet!

His little wings on the side were always crazy

Look at that long mullet!  It had to go!!

He did great during the haircut.  He sat by himself in the chair and just hung out while the girl cut his hair.  I was impressed with how well he did!

Sitting in the chair about to get all that hair chopped off

Now he looks like such a big boy!  He kept this same face pretty much the entire time.  He was unimpressed :)

I love the way his hair looks!  He looks like a little boy now and it is nice not having all that crazy hair.

He loves his new hair!!

So much better!!!!

Gymboree!!

I signed Walker up for Gymboree classes and yesterday he had his first class.  I did this with Bennett too at the same age and he loved it.  Walker had fun and just roamed around the class most of the time.  I don't think he knew what to do with so many fun activities and kids around.  I am looking forward to him being around kids his age more, the only time he is around kids his age is at church when he goes into the nursery.  Other then that he is always with kids Bennett's age, so this will be good for him.  It also gives he and I something to do just the two of us while Bennett is at school.

It was fun getting some one on one time with just him.  I have a feeling Walker is going to love this class especially since he is my social butterfly!

Look Who is Walking!!

Such a big boy!!!!

Last week Walker started to take a few steps here and there but wasn't fully walking.  Well a couple of days ago he just started walking further and further and is officially walking!  He prefers to crawl still because right now that is his fastest mode of transportation.  I have a feeling in the next week or two crawling will be a distant memory and he will be walking everywhere.

I love watching him walk.  He gets so excited and has the biggest smile on his face.  I forgot how cute it is to watch them learn to walk because they look a little like Frankenstein when they walk around so stiff in the legs.

So proud of himself!

I love watching him go!

Our baby and is quickly losing any sign that he is a baby!  I know he will love being able to keep up with Bennett now.  Guess I need to actually get him some shoes now...I still haven't done that!  I love a bare foot baby especially in the summer, but he wants to get around on his own so shoes are a must!  I love watching my baby grow up!

Back to School!

Yesterday was Bennett's first day back to preschool.  On Tuesday we went to Open House at his school to meet his teachers and they are great!  I am really excited about his teachers and his class this year.

Ready for school!

Walker was excited too!

In his classroom

The first year Bennett went to preschool he took a long time to warm up to his teachers and cried for the first few weeks at drop off.  Last year he never cried but was timid and took a while to warm up.  This year he is still shy, but he is not timid at all and was so excited about school.  He is growing up so fast and it is showing!  I am looking forward to this school year and all the new things he will learn.

Beach Trip 2013

Last week we spent at the beach.  It was so much fun, but a lot of work at the same time.  Going to the beach with two young kids is no joke!!  Bennett had a blast and loved everything about the beach.  Last time he was there he was only 20 months old so he had no recollection of the beach, but now he won't stop asking when we are going back.  He has asked every day if we can go back. Walker did really good considering his age.  He was content to hang out under the beach tent and play with the buckets and toys.  He ate his fair share of sand, but he liked it so I just let him go with it!

We loved the area we stayed in and will be making this our yearly beach destination.  We are already planning our trip for next year!

Here are a bunch of pictures that sum up our trip.

Fun day at the pool

Having fun playing with the water in his bucket

Beach bum

Bennett loved swimming in the ocean

Digging in the sand

Snack time

My precious boys!

Most nights we would just walk to dinner.  Everything was within walking distance to where we were staying, so if we didn't want to get in our car we really didn't have to.  It made getting around really easy with the boys.

Cutie in his new shades!

Eating ice cream at Sugar Shak

He loved this fountain we had to visit it everyday!  Some mornings Bennett and I would go on our morning walk alone and hang out here.

Sweet boy hanging out on the lawn in front of our condo

Our good friends Luci and Jemel were staying close to where we were, so we met them in Seaside for dinner one night.

Eating frozen yogurt

Crawling all over the lawn

We tried most nights before we went out to get a good picture with the boys.  It rarely worked!  Here are the best ones.

Doesn't Bennett look so happy to have his picture taken again!?

All in all it was a great family vacation.  I really cannot wait to go back and enjoy another week on the beach with my boys!
