Muffins with Mom

This morning Bennett's class hosted all of the moms for breakfast.  I really can't say enough about his teachers and how thoughtful they are.  They had the sweetest things made by the kids for us.  I had an adorable pin to wear with a picture of Bennett on the pin.  While we ate Bennett's teacher pulled out cards they made for each mom.  The teachers had asked each child questions about their mom, so Bennett's teacher read out the answers and had everyone guess whose mom that child was talking about.  Bennett did pretty good with his answers for me and I was able to pick his out easily once I heard one of the answers to the question was we play cars!  That could only be my boy!  Bennett gave me my card and a gift wrapped in paper that he decorated.  I opened my gift and found the sweetest apron with his handprints all over it.  I love how creative his teachers are!

I LOVE the apron Bennett made.  I told him I will wear it tonight while I make dinner.  Today was a fun morning and Bennett was really excited that I was at school with him.  Even after I picked him up this afternoon he still kept talking about the fact that Walker and I came to school with him this morning.
This was a great start to celebrating Mother's Day with my boys!

Bugs!!

Bennett came home from school on Tuesday with a Bug House he had made.  He was eager to catch some bugs to put into his house, so I told him after his nap we would head outside to look for bugs.  Secretly I was hoping he would somehow forget so I wouldn't have to handle gross bugs but who are we kidding, Bennett doesn't forget anything!  The first thing out of his mouth when he woke up was "Let's go get some bugs Mom".  So we headed outside to look for bugs.

Bennett with his bug house

Approach #1 he thought if he held it up bugs would fly in

Approach #2 was sit and hope bugs would come to him

Sweet Walker just sat and played and I obviously did not rub in his sunscreen very well

We really could not find one bug in our backyard, so we had no luck getting anything for his bug house.  We went back out after dinner and finally found one.  I set the poor bug free after Bennett shook the house so hard I was afraid we would have a dead bug on our hands.

I guess since I am surrounded by boys I probably need to get used to bugs and other gross little things!

9 Months Old!!

Another month has flown by and sweet Walker is now 9 months old!  He had his well check last week and we still have our short, chubby little guy.

9 month stats:
21.5 lbs---78%
27 5/8 in--22%

He had a good check up and will not go back until he is 1!  Cannot believe he is getting close to his first birthday already!!

Walker is still in 6-9 and 6-12 month clothes, size 4 diapers, and he still sleeps and eats like a champ.  He is doing great with food and can now feed himself puffs and he loves Mum Mum crackers.  I just started feeding him peas to try and get him more used to feeding himself and eating real food instead of baby food.  I am going to slowly continue introducing him to more food so we don't have to use as much baby food now that he has 2 teeth and is doing well eating.

He had not figured out how to crawl yet.  He rocks back and forth and will move one knee forward then he just throws his whole body forward to get to what he wants.  He is very mobile without crawling and it is just a matter of time before he figures it out and is really on the move.

Last week we decided to put Walker in the bath at the same time as Bennett.  We used to bathe Walker in his baby tub then get him out and start a bath for Bennett.  Now that Walker can sit up so well and is bigger we thought it would be more fun for the two of them to get a bath at the same time.  Bennett and Walker both LOVED bath time.  I pulled Walker out the first time and he got so mad.  He screamed for a few minutes, so the next time we kept him in there longer and got them out at the same time.  He still got mad but didn't stay mad too long.  I love seeing them having so much fun playing together!!

First time in the bath like a big boy!

My babies!!

Walker adores Bennett and Bennett adores him right back.  I don't think there is anything better then seeing your kids bond and grow in their relationship as brothers.  I love them both so much and can't get over how fast they are growing up.

Easter 2013

Even though Easter was over a week ago I am finally getting time to write about what we did.  After Walker had the stomach bug and I really thought we were in the clear but boy was I wrong!  Bennett came down with it Friday evening after Walker so he was down and out the weekend before Easter.  I just kept thinking if Jeremy or I are going to get it I just wanted to get it and be done with it.  Days went by and we were all fine so I figured we were past the sickness.  Unfortunately for me Thursday I got sick.  I slept all day Friday and got 11 hours of sleep that night.  I woke up Saturday feeling like a new person so thankfully we were able to go on with our Easter plans for the weekend.

Saturday we headed up to Jeremy's parents house to spend the day with them.  It was a fun day and Bennett and Carder were able to do an Easter egg hunt and play outside since the weather was beautiful.

After a fun day we headed home and our plans for Easter Sunday changed a bit.  Poor Ryan came down with the stomach bug late Friday night.  We all had plans to go over to my sister's house after church but decided that wouldn't be a good idea just in case Ryan was still contagious or if anyone else in their house came down with it so we decided to push our plans to Wednesday.

We still went by to have a quick lunch with my dad Sunday and since it turned out to be such a rainy gross day we spent the rest of the day at home and finally got around to dying our eggs.  I meant to do that with Bennett on Friday but since I was still feeling sick and we were gone all day Saturday we didn't get to it until Sunday.  In the middle of the night Sunday Jeremy started to feel sick so he was down for the count Monday.  By that point I felt like we were never going to get rid of this nasty bug!

Luckily on Wednesday everyone was finally healthy and we went to my sister's house and celebrated Easter with my family a few days late.  Lyndsay and Dallon set up an Easter egg hunt for the kids outside and they had so much fun playing with each other.

Other then a lot of us being sick Easter still turned out to be great.  The weekend didn't go exactly as planned but all that stuff doesn't matter anyway.  Easter is to celebrate our Risen Savior and that can be done sick or well.  I am glad we were still able to see all of our family though and that the stomach bug has left our house hopefully for good!!!

8 Months Old

Walker turned 8 months old a few days ago.  I feel like every month is going by faster and faster.  This month he got his 2 bottom teeth in...finally!  He is also rocking back and forth on all fours so I won't be surprised if he figures out this crawling thing very soon.  He is already so mobile without crawling that I can only imagine what all he will get into once he can really get around!

Poor baby also had his first experience with the stomach bug a couple of days ago.  I don't think I have ever seen anything worse then watching my little baby throw up.  It only lasted about an hour and after a good night of sleep he seemed to be fine the next day.  We all got lucky too and so far no one else has gotten sick and I am praying it stays that way!

Such a big boy!

Sweet smiles

Walker is the sweetest baby!  I know all babies are sweet, but there is something about Walker.  He is so happy, sweet, and lovable.  He lights up when he sees us and has the best disposition.  He also doesn't mind who is holding him, which is so different from Bennett.  At this age Bennett was already shy and had major separation anxiety.  Walker has no problem being passed around to different people or going to the nursery at church.

We just love him so so much!  I love seeing glimpses into his personality and can't wait to see more of it come out and he grows.

Reasons to Celebrate!

This weekend was so great.  The weather was amazing and we had a couple of reasons to celebrate around here.  The first reason came when Jeremy got a great promotion at work!  This has been in the works for a while and he finally got the news he got it on Thursday.  Jeremy isn't one to toot his own horn so I will toot it for him!  I am so proud of him, he works very hard and it is great that his hard work is being noticed.  Friday night we decided to grab dinner to celebrate, but soon we need to book our baby sitter and go out just the two of us.

Our second reason to celebrate was for sweet Ella.  She turned 3 yesterday and her party was on Saturday.  I am so mad at myself because I left my camera at home so I did not get any pictures of her adorable princess party.  Ella is a girly girl and loves all things princess and my sister put on a party fitting for a princess.  The kids got to jump in a castle bounce house and run around for hours, they had the best time.  It was a great party!  Yesterday we called the birthday girl so we could do Face Time and she appears on the screen in a Snow White dress and a big flower head band on!  I love that she chose that to dress up for her big day.  We love our sassy Ella!!

The weather this weekend got up close to the 70s so we spent every second we could outside.  Bennett was in heaven!!!  He followed Jeremy around all day while he did yard work.  After that was done we blew bubbles, colored with side walk chalk and just ran around the yard.  I love that Spring is right around the corner!

Bennett wants to be just like his daddy!!

This little guy keeps scooting backwards under furniture!

Sweet baby!

Walker spent a little time with us outside and it won't be long before he can really get out there and play.  He is the most mobile immobile little guy :)  He flops back and forth from his belly to his back like he is a fish out of water and just rolls everywhere.  He just started getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth...uh oh!  Right now he can only go backwards but I know very soon he is going to figure it out and be all over the place.  Life will be interesting when he is mobile!  He is also getting his first tooth finally.  I know I have said a few times he was teething and finally those suckers are cutting through.  I can feel one of his bottom teeth that has just cut through and the other one isn't far behind.  I will miss his gummy grin!

All in all we had a great weekend with family and enjoying the great weather.

School Performance

On Wednesday Bennett participated in his school performance called "Rock of Ages".  The basis of the theme is that Jesus is our Rock in life, so all of the kids in his age group dressed in different musical themes.  Bennett's class was the 20's, so they had top hats, ties and a fake trumpet for their costume.

I kept asking Bennett before the performance to show me the songs and dances but he always said "No Mommy".  The day before they practiced one last time and he was really excited about being on stage and told me how fun it was.  I was a bit surprised at his enthusiasm but I know he had no clue the next day he would be on stage in front of a lot of people!

Bennett did great through the performance he got on stage and during the first two songs he sang along and did some of the motions to the songs.  I was so proud of him!  I honestly just kept staring at him so proud of my big boy!  I video taped the whole thing and it is hysterical because during one song you can see him looking for Jeremy and I in the crowd and you see him find us and as soon as he does he turns to the side and stops singing and dancing.  He just kept looking at us smiling over his shoulder.

Waiting for his big brother to get on stage!

He was so proud of himself!

My big boy!  So proud of him!!!!

I loved watching him!!  When you have a very shy child you never know how they will do in these situations, so I really am so proud of him and how he handled himself.  After the show he got to have lunch with his best bud Kennedy so I know for him that was the highlight of his day.
