7 Months Old!!

My little Walker is growing up so fast.  I can't believe he is already 7 months old.  In just a few months I will need to start planning his 1st birthday!  How in the world is that possible!?

Walker is just the happiest baby and goes with the flow.  He rarely cries at all, only if he is really tired or hungry.  He will still fall asleep on us which I love!  He is the best little snuggler and I hope he stays this way for a long time.

He started rolling from back to tummy and is showing no signs of crawling yet which is fine by me.  The jumperoo is his favorite toy, he loves to jump!!!  Even when he isn't in his jumper he is still kicking his legs like he is jumping.  He is doing great sitting up on his own and loves to sit and explore all of his toys especially if his big brother is playing with him.  He loves Bennett and the feeling is mutual.  I can not go get Walker up from his crib unless Bennett is with me.  When Walker is napping Bennett will ask over and over "Where is Walker" and he will keep telling me to go get him.   I love seeing their bond starting to grow.

My sweet 7 month old

Since Walker was just weighed a couple of weeks ago I am assuming he is still around 20 lbs.  He wears 6-9 and 6-12 month clothes.  He fits perfectly in the 6-9 month clothes since he is on the short side, sometimes 12 month pants are just too long for his little legs.  He has moved up in to size 4 diapers  recently.  

He is also a great eater and has yet to turn his nose up to any baby food I have offered him.  We got through all of the stage one foods and are now trying out stage two.  

I am so lucky to have such a happy, easy going baby!  Walker we love you so so much!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

We had a nice Valentine's Day.  Bennett had school so he got to have a fun party with his class and they all exchanged Valentines.  Bennett's best buddy is Kennedy and he is so lucky to have her in his class this year.  My friend Hether dropped off Kennedy yesterday morning and all of the kids were lining up to go to PE and she saw Bennett hold out his hand to Kennedy and they grabbed hands and headed off to PE together.  I think it is safe to say Kennedy was Bennett's Valentine yesterday!  I just love that he held out his hand for her.  My sweet boy isn't the most affectionate.  He will occasionally hug or kiss me for no reason but I usually have to ask so it made me so happy when Hether told me how he wanted to hold her hand.  He loves his Kennedy!

After I got Bennett home from school we went through all of his Valentines from school and he helped me make dinner and dessert for Jeremy.

Walker's first Valentine's Day!!

Once Jeremy got home from work we exchanged cards and gave the boys a little gift.  Then we enjoyed a nice dinner and relaxed for the rest of the night after the boys went to bed.  It was a fun day with my 3 favorite people in the world!

6 Month Stats

Walker had his 6 month well check yesterday.  He received a great report from his pediatrician and he is doing great! He charmed a couple of nurses while we were there.  Walker loves to smile and laugh at people so he showed the nurses just how cute he can be, until they gave him his shots then he was just pitiful.  I can't blame him though if I had to get 3 shots in my legs I wouldn't be happy either.  He is growing and developing like he should, so I was happy to hear my sweet boy is a healthy little guy!

Weight: 20 lbs--84%
Height: 26 3/4 in--40%

Walker is still short and chubby but he couldn't be any cuter!  His weight has slowed down so soon it should equal out a bit more but until then I am going to enjoy his chubby thighs and all of his rolls!

Walker is just the sweetest little baby!  His face lights up when he sees me, Jeremy or Bennett.  Bennett can get the best laugh out of Walker.  I love seeing their relationship grow, it is the best thing in the world watching them interact with one another.  I love my boys!

Adventures in Solids!

Walker has taken to solids very well!  Bennett took some time to warm up to it when he was a baby but not Walker, he is eating like a champ!  So far we have done carrots and squash, tomorrow we will try peas.  He may not love peas as much but hopefully he won't mind them too much.  We also gave him a sippy cup of water for the first time so he can start to get used to drinking out of one.  He pretty much just chews on it or has no interest in it.  I guess for now he will just play with it until he figures out how to use it.

His favorite toy is his jumperoo.  He will stay in that for an hour or more and just jump non stop.  It is so funny to watch him.  Bennett will go over and start jumping by him and Walker thinks it is so funny and will try and jump as fast as Bennett.

Walker is growing up so fast and it makes me sad but at the same time things are becoming so much easier because he is getting bigger so there are trade offs.  He is just the sweetest little thing!

Aquarium Trip

We took Bennett and Walker to the aquarium on Saturday.  Jeremy's parents gave us an annual pass to the aquarium for Bennett's birthday and we also got a zoo pass from them for one of Walker's Christmas gifts.  We are excited to have these so we can take them anytime we want to go.

Bennett was very excited to see the fish.  He would have stayed all day if we let him he wanted to go back through and see everything for a second time.  Walker was a trooper during the trip.  He just wanted to be held so I wore him in the baby carrier and he was happy to just hang out.

6 Months Old!!

I can't believe my little Walker is 6 months old already!  These past 6 months have been the fastest of my life!  He is growing and changing so much now.  Before I know it he is going to be one which seems impossible.

He can now sit up on his own but he needs some support still.  I usually put the boppy pillow around him and he can sit up for a while with that.  Poor guy is still working on his 2 bottom teeth and I really wish they would come in already.  He is chewing on his hands or any toy he can get his hands on and drooling non stop.  I can feel them under his gums but they are taking a long time to cut through.

We started oatmeal with him today.  He did really well with it and by the second time I fed it to him he was pulling the spoon into his mouth.  I think he is going to enjoy trying out all of the fruits and vegetables because he seemed to really like what he had today.  I guess he was ready to start solids.

I was late setting up Walker's 6 month check up so I don't take him for a couple more weeks.  I am interested to see how much he has grown since his last check up.

Happy New Year and Our Growing 3 Year Old

Happy New Year!!!  We had a very low key New Years.  It isn't like we have many options with a 3 year old and 5 month old.  Maybe next year we can book a babysitter and get out.  Honestly though I kind of like being home and hanging out.  The crowds on New Years aren't really my cup of tea!

This year Jeremy and I ordered Chinese takeout and drank champagne in the comfort of our own home.  I managed to stay up until midnight which was a huge struggle.  As soon as the ball dropped I fell asleep.  Bennett didn't get the memo that we needed a little extra sleep in the morning since we stayed up late so Jeremy and I were dragging on New Years Day.  New Years Day we just relaxed at home and I made black eyes peas, collard greens, and ham.  It was yummy!!!!!

We are looking forward to the New Year and all that it has in store for us.  Jeremy and I realized this is the first year in a while where we are not planning for any big life changes.  In 2009 I was pregnant and had Bennett, 2010 Bennett was a newborn, I quit my job to stay home, Jeremy got a new job, and we moved into a new home, 2011 we decided to try for another baby and I was pregnant with Walker in November, and 2012 we spent the year getting prepared for Walker then adjusting to a new baby.  This year there will be no more babies and no big changes (at least in our plans there won't be).  It is kind of nice just being able to enjoy what we have, watch our boys grow up and not have anything big to prepare for!

With the holidays December was so busy I couldn't get an appointment for Bennett for his 3 year well check.  We finally went in last week and my has he grown!  He has grown 4 inches in one year.

3 year stats:

35 1/2 lbs-- 84%

38 in-- 66%

His pediatrician thinks his height is wrong and that Bennett is actually taller then 38in.  Bennett wasn't standing up very straight and kept putting his head down when they measured him so he very well could be taller then what they measured.  His doctor said just by looking at Bennett he can tell he is more proportionate in his height and weight since Bennett is pretty skinny.  He is solid though so who knows, but the doctor was not concerned about any of his stats.  Bennett is right on track developmentally and won't go back until he is 4 unless he gets sick.

Bennett has changed a lot recently and seems so grown up.  He is so smart and funny.  Some of the things that come out of his mouth blow me away...usually in a good way :)  He has an incredible memory and brings up things that we did months ago.  He is such a sweet big brother and loves Walker.  He is starting to play with him more and loves to bring toys over for Walker to play with.  I have a feeling once Walker is mobile and takes the toys he wants Bennett may not be as into sharing but who knows. 

I was also warned that it is not really the terrible twos to worry about but the terrible threes and oh my goodness everyone was right!!!!!  Bennett has acquired quite an attitude lately and is really testing his limits with us.  We are standing firm with him and trying to stay patient but he is really pushing it some days with us.  I just hope it gets better and not worse!

I can't say it enough how much I love this little boy!  He amazes me every day and it is so much fun seeing him grow into this wonderful little boy!
