8 Months Old

Walker turned 8 months old a few days ago.  I feel like every month is going by faster and faster.  This month he got his 2 bottom teeth in...finally!  He is also rocking back and forth on all fours so I won't be surprised if he figures out this crawling thing very soon.  He is already so mobile without crawling that I can only imagine what all he will get into once he can really get around!

Poor baby also had his first experience with the stomach bug a couple of days ago.  I don't think I have ever seen anything worse then watching my little baby throw up.  It only lasted about an hour and after a good night of sleep he seemed to be fine the next day.  We all got lucky too and so far no one else has gotten sick and I am praying it stays that way!

Such a big boy!

Sweet smiles

Walker is the sweetest baby!  I know all babies are sweet, but there is something about Walker.  He is so happy, sweet, and lovable.  He lights up when he sees us and has the best disposition.  He also doesn't mind who is holding him, which is so different from Bennett.  At this age Bennett was already shy and had major separation anxiety.  Walker has no problem being passed around to different people or going to the nursery at church.

We just love him so so much!  I love seeing glimpses into his personality and can't wait to see more of it come out and he grows.

Reasons to Celebrate!

This weekend was so great.  The weather was amazing and we had a couple of reasons to celebrate around here.  The first reason came when Jeremy got a great promotion at work!  This has been in the works for a while and he finally got the news he got it on Thursday.  Jeremy isn't one to toot his own horn so I will toot it for him!  I am so proud of him, he works very hard and it is great that his hard work is being noticed.  Friday night we decided to grab dinner to celebrate, but soon we need to book our baby sitter and go out just the two of us.

Our second reason to celebrate was for sweet Ella.  She turned 3 yesterday and her party was on Saturday.  I am so mad at myself because I left my camera at home so I did not get any pictures of her adorable princess party.  Ella is a girly girl and loves all things princess and my sister put on a party fitting for a princess.  The kids got to jump in a castle bounce house and run around for hours, they had the best time.  It was a great party!  Yesterday we called the birthday girl so we could do Face Time and she appears on the screen in a Snow White dress and a big flower head band on!  I love that she chose that to dress up for her big day.  We love our sassy Ella!!

The weather this weekend got up close to the 70s so we spent every second we could outside.  Bennett was in heaven!!!  He followed Jeremy around all day while he did yard work.  After that was done we blew bubbles, colored with side walk chalk and just ran around the yard.  I love that Spring is right around the corner!

Bennett wants to be just like his daddy!!

This little guy keeps scooting backwards under furniture!

Sweet baby!

Walker spent a little time with us outside and it won't be long before he can really get out there and play.  He is the most mobile immobile little guy :)  He flops back and forth from his belly to his back like he is a fish out of water and just rolls everywhere.  He just started getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth...uh oh!  Right now he can only go backwards but I know very soon he is going to figure it out and be all over the place.  Life will be interesting when he is mobile!  He is also getting his first tooth finally.  I know I have said a few times he was teething and finally those suckers are cutting through.  I can feel one of his bottom teeth that has just cut through and the other one isn't far behind.  I will miss his gummy grin!

All in all we had a great weekend with family and enjoying the great weather.

School Performance

On Wednesday Bennett participated in his school performance called "Rock of Ages".  The basis of the theme is that Jesus is our Rock in life, so all of the kids in his age group dressed in different musical themes.  Bennett's class was the 20's, so they had top hats, ties and a fake trumpet for their costume.

I kept asking Bennett before the performance to show me the songs and dances but he always said "No Mommy".  The day before they practiced one last time and he was really excited about being on stage and told me how fun it was.  I was a bit surprised at his enthusiasm but I know he had no clue the next day he would be on stage in front of a lot of people!

Bennett did great through the performance he got on stage and during the first two songs he sang along and did some of the motions to the songs.  I was so proud of him!  I honestly just kept staring at him so proud of my big boy!  I video taped the whole thing and it is hysterical because during one song you can see him looking for Jeremy and I in the crowd and you see him find us and as soon as he does he turns to the side and stops singing and dancing.  He just kept looking at us smiling over his shoulder.

Waiting for his big brother to get on stage!

Ready to perform!!

He was so proud of himself!

My big boy!  So proud of him!!!!

I loved watching him!!  When you have a very shy child you never know how they will do in these situations, so I really am so proud of him and how he handled himself.  After the show he got to have lunch with his best bud Kennedy so I know for him that was the highlight of his day.
